Tallow & beeswax candles were made and sold to the wealthier townspeople.  The cost of beeswax made it a pricely form of lighting for the common home.  I render the tallow from suet, then mix the tallow with beeswax to create totally correct 18th Century candles.

Whether it be sewing, cooking, or firing a gun, all living history reenactors aim to obtain skills that will improve the quality of their personna.  This page was set up to "show off", I guess.  Below are displayed the skills of not only myself but friends and fellow reenactors that I know and admire.
These are a couple samples of artwork painted by myself (Carol).  I try to find challenging subjects among the photos taken at events to create 18th Century-style portraits.

The one on the left is painted as a 15x15 Scheutzen Target, while the one on the right was painted on 18x24 canvas.
